Dr. Benjamin Kalsmith graduated from the University of Vermont and received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He continued his medical training at Tufts Hospital in Boston, MA, where he completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowships in general cardiology, advanced heart failure and transplant and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Kalsmith joined the Cardiovascular Disease Specialists of Pittsburgh in 2013. His practice specializes in heart failure, echocardiogram imaging, nuclear imaging and interventional cardiac procedures. The majority of his cardiac catheterizations and interventions are performed via the radial artery technique.
Dr. Kalsmith is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine and interventional cardiology.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Kalsmith enjoys many outdoor activities including skiing, biking, hiking, paddleboarding and golf.
Dr. Kalsmith is available to see patients at both our Shadyside and Jefferson Hospital Offices.
